Dr. Rao earned an M.D. from Osmania University. He completed two residencies, one in pathology and one in ophthalmology at the Georgetown University Medical Center. He completed his fellowship in ophthalmic pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Dr. Rao is Director of the Inflammation, Uveitis, and AIDS Service and Director of the A. Ray Irvine, Jr., Ophthalmic Pathology Laboratory at Doheny, which is the cornerstone of the teaching program for the residents.

Dr. Rao is involved in both the research aspects and clinical treatment of a broad range of inflammatory ocular diseases and tumors.

Dr. Manabu Mochizuki, MD, PhD was born in 1947 and completed medical education at Kyushu University School of Medicine in 1973, residency in ophthalmology at Tokyo University Hospital(1973-74), assigned Associate Professor, Department of Ophthalmology, Tokyo University(1986-1990); Professor & Chairman, Department of Ophthalmology, Kurume University(1990-1998); Professor & Chairman, Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science, Tokyo Medical and Dental University(1990-presesnt).


Dr. Mochizuki is an internationally well-recognized expert in ocular inflammation, immunology, infection, and pharmacology. He is author and co-author of over 600 scientific publications and gave many named lectures and symposium.


He is President of Japanese Ocular Inflammation Society (2007- ), President of Japanese Ocular Pharmacological Society(2008-2010), Council of Japan Ophthalmological Society, Secretary of International Ocular Inflammation Society(IOIS, 2011- ), Gold Follow of ARVO(2010- ) and ARVO Program Committee member(2010- ), and member of International Uveitis Study Group(IUSG), International Society of Eye Research(ISER), European Association for Vision and Eye Research (EVER).


Dr. Mochizuki is Co-Editor of Japanese Journal of Ophthalmology, Editorial Board of Journal of Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infection, Ocular Immunology and Inflammation, International Ophthalmology, Journal of Ophthalmology, APAO Journal.

Dr.Babu completed her postgraduation in ophthalmology from Bangalore Medical College and Minto Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Bangalore, India. She did her fellowship in Uveitis and Intraocular  inflammation and Ocular pathology at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.  She is a member of the International Uveitis Study group.  She has 45 publications in peer reviewed journals and is a reviewer for several international peer reviewed journals.  She is also an invited speaker at several national and international meetings in uveitis and ocular pathology.  She has received the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology-Gold award for the year 2009-2010 and the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Travel grant for young ophthalmologists in 2011.  She is the General Secretary of the Uveitis Society of India and has successfully organized the First International assembly of Ocular Inflammation Societies at Goa, India, in 2011.

Areas of Interest: Uveitis, Management of Uveitic Cataracts, Tubercular uveitis and HIV.
